About Korean Health Literacy Research Center
The Korean Health Literacy Research Center conducts health literacy-based research to improve the health outcomes of individuals, organizations, and communities, developing and disseminating educational programs informed by this research. We particularly focus on enhancing health literacy among vulnerable groups, including socially disadvantaged populations, individuals with chronic diseases, persons with disabilities, and migrants.
Our primary research areas include:
- Development and validation of health literacy assessment tools
- Development of health literacy content and educational programs
- Establishing evidence-based guidelines for developing easy-to-read health education materials
- Collaboration with communities and healthcare institutions to create health literacy-friendly environments
As a university-based institute, we actively support graduate students in participating in research and developing practical, field-based competencies. Through this, we aim to contribute to cultivating sustainable expertise in health literacy and conducting practical community-based research.
